What is Scribely?
Scribely is Sparkol’s latest online animation tool that empowers you to create animated mp4 videos and GIFs. Have fun adding text, shapes, GIFs and images to your chosen canvas size. Hit ‘play’ and your animation will magically draw across the screen by a hand. Pick your own hand, or choose the ‘no hand’ option. Upload an audio track or record a voiceover to REALLY tell your story and share your message with the world. 🎤 🌏
What can I do for free?
Scribely’s free plan is always there for you, no payment details required. 🙌 Create up to three projects with 15 elements in each. Download one video for free (it will have our watermark on). Do I need to download anything to get started?
No. Scribely is a browser-based tool. 😃 You just need a stable internet connection!
What devices can I create videos on?
Create videos on the go using your iPad (or iPad Mini), Tablet, desktop computer or laptop. 🧑🎨. We don’t support the Windows 7 operating system. On mobile devices, your videos will be ‘view only’.
What browsers are best to use with Scribely?
We support the latest versions of Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox and Opera. We don’t support IE11.
What are the file types and resolution of the videos I can create?
You can create mp4 videos in HD 1080p and GIFs. Check out this blog to see how you can create your own GIF in Scribely in less than a minute ⚡.
Is there a limit to the length of video I can create?
There’s currently no technical limit to the length of video you can create. The longer your video is, however, the longer it will take to render your video to mp4 format. We recommend creating videos no longer than 3-4 minutes. GIF downloads are limited to the first 15 seconds of your project.
What canvas sizes can I use within Scribely?
You can create videos and GIFs in landscape (16:9), square (1:1) and portrait (9:16) format – perfect for YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, emails, website content and more. Wherever you’re sharing your videos, we’ve got you covered. 👍
What images can I use?
We have a library of 8,000+ images at your disposal – something to tell every story 🎉. You can upload your own images in .jpeg, .png and GIF format to make your creation unique to you.
What templates do you have?
Our ever-growing library has templates to help get all users started with everything from social media posts to business HR updates! We’re proud to say we cover a wide range of themes – get startedwith Scribely to browse our selection. More and more of them have royalty-free music! 🎵
What languages does Scribey support?
Adding text in Scribely, you have access to 140+ Google Fonts to support various languages. ✍️
Why should I upgrade to the Scribely Creator subscription?
Being a Scribely Creator means you can let your creativity run wild! Create more than 3 projects, go beyond 15 elements in each. Get as many mp4 and GIF downloads as you want. Oh, and there’ll be no Scribely watermark on your masterpieces. What’s not to love? ❤️
How do I upgrade?
You can upgrade once you’re in Scribely wherever you see the ‘upgrade’ button. You can also visit our upgrade page or the pricing page to pay. 💪
What currencies do you charge in?
We currently charge for our Scribely Creator Subscription in US Dollars (USD), British pound sterling (GBP) and Euros (EUR). Visit our pricing page to see what we charge in your region.
What are your payment options?
We offer our Scribely Creator subscription. This is a monthly plan, billed month-to-month meaning you can cancel at any time. We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express.
Does my subscription auto-renew?
Yes, your subscription will auto-renew one month from when you made your purchase and all following months until you cancel your subscription.
What if I don’t need Scribely anymore?
No worries! You can cancel your monthly subscription up to three business days before the next payment is due. Just go to ‘Manage account’ in Scribely. You’ll still be able to use your subscription up until the time the next payment would have been due. You’ll then automatically drop down to our free plan.
How can I learn more about Scribely?
Our customers love how easy it is to create a video as a beginner. No drawing skills are required – we provide the animation magic! Once you’re logged in, you’ll find a tutorial video on the basics of putting elements on your canvas. For inspiration on what to create, check out our blog. 👀
